Herschel Thomason, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, December 2, 2016. He was born on June 1, 1942 to the late Manning and Viola Thomason. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Thomason; son, Paul Thomason; a daughter, Angela Thomason; and a brother in law, Kenneth Rabun. He is survived by his children, Cindy Thomason of Dalton, Ronnie Thomason and his wife Michelle of Dalton, Tim Thomason of Dalton; brother, Hoyt Thomason of Dalton; sister, Mary Ruth Rabun of Dalton; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Herschel Thomason will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Shipman officiating. Interment will be at Thomason Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.
