Danny Douglas, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cobb County, Georgia, on November 27, 1958, Danny was the son of the late James Douglas and Ola Mae Caviness. A skilled drywall installer and painter by trade, he was known for his tireless work ethic and dedication to his craft. Danny found joy in the outdoors, especially in hunting and fishing, pastimes that brought him peace and connection to nature. He also had a deep affection for animals, often forming quiet bonds with the pets and wildlife around him. His gentle spirit and respect for all living creatures reflected the kindness he carried in his heart. He is survived by his daughters, Nyckie Long and her husband Mickey, Haley McCollum and her husband Blake; son, Robert Hulsey; brothers, David Douglas and Timothy Douglas; sister, Susan Cline; and grandchildren, Jacob Worthy, Nicholas Douglas, and Justin McCollum; and great-grandchild, Kaiden Douglas. Many other cherished family members and friends also mourn his passing. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home, with Reverend Greg Young officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home. Danny will be remembered for his strength, his love of the outdoors and animals, and the quiet dedication he showed to those he cared for.
