Janie O. Austin, age 79, of Resaca, Ga. passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024. She was born August 26, 1945. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Howard Oliver and Betty 'Maynor' Oliver; daughter, Connie Talley; brother, C.H. Oliver Jr.; sisters, Barbara Garner, Louise Stewart, Marie Oliver; grandchild, Benjamin Seth Talley. She is survived by her husband, Charles Austin; son, Michael Austin; daughters, Cindy (Dan) Peterson; brother, Paul (Donna) Oliver; sister, Marilyn Reeves; grandchildren, Mathew Talley, Sara Simmons, Nicholas Davis, Marysa Davis, Grant Peterson, Lindy Peterson; great grandchildren, Drew Simmons, Madeline Simmons, Camille Talley, Truitt Talley; son-in-law, Brant Talley; sister-in-law, Joyce Oliver. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Janie Austin will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Cronan officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home.
