Linda Sue Creswell Rogers

Linda Sue Creswell Rogers, or “nana” as most people knew her by, age 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday at Quinton Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center. She is preceded in death by her mother, Locie Creswell and father, Roscoe Creswell, brother, Johnny Creswell, sister Mary Ann Creswell and niece Mary Ann Creswell. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Quinton Rogers of Dalton. She is also survived by her only daughter, Pam (Don) Shoemaker and her three granddaughters, Kalyn Kolaski of Atlanta, and Kyra and Kylie Kolaski of Dalton. She is also survived by her sister, Sarah Young of Chatsworth, niece Donna (Danny) Brown. Great nieces, Taylor Smithy and Tatum Brown. Great great nieces, Ella Smithy and Capri Newman and great great nephew Dawson Smithy, all of Chatsworth. And sister-in-law, Ruth Creswell of Signal Mountain. Linda was the best mama, wife, nana, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friend anyone could ask for. Everyone who knew her knew her family meant the world to her. The unbreakable bond she shared with her daughter, Pam, and three granddaughters, Kalyn, Kyra and Kylie was a constant source of joy in her life, as well as the sweet sibling bond and friendship she had with her sister, Sarah, who was like a second mother to her throughout her life. She also shared a special bond with her niece, Donna, who was like a second daughter to her and also her trusted hair dresser. Her great nieces, great great nieces and nephew also added another layer of joy to her life. And not to forget her special son-in-law, Don, who was like the son she never had. Her kindness and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Someone once called her an angel on earth and that’s exactly what she was. She was the most selfless and giving person, and had the biggest heart. Linda’s dedication to caring for her husband, Quinton, during his battle with Parkinson’s and dementia, despite her own challenging fight against cancer, exemplifies the depth of her love and selflessness. She also had a special love for cats. She has rescued and cared for so many throughout her life. She was affectionately known by many as “the cat lady.” She never meant a furry feline she didn’t love. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Naguib who cared for Linda throughout her many bouts with cancer. Also, a special thank you to her favorite nurse, Jacob Hughes and all the staff at Quinton Memorial Health and Rehabilitation and Hamilton Hospice. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Linda Rogers will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cochran. Interment will be at Varnell Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Don Shoemaker, Danny Brown, Matt Smithey, Russell Green, Dawson Smithey and Tate Higgins.
