Mark Alan Fossett, age 65, passed peacefully from this world on August 1st. Mark was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was a Dalton native, and worked for 38 years at Queen Carpet, which later merged with Shaw Industries. Mark had many interests, not the least of which were his niece, nephew, and their children, all of whom he adored. Mark was generous to a fault, always positive, and giving of his friendship and time. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, George and Agnes Fossett. He is survived by his brother, Shannon Fossett, of Dalton. He is also survived by a niece, Jade Martin, and a nephew, Trystan Fossett, both also from Dalton. Mark adored his great nephews, Haygen Cummings, Eli Fossett, Kyzer Fossett, Decker Fossett, and Zeke Fossett. Mark also had a large circle of close friends, and he will be sorely missed by many. A service will be held Sunday August 6, 2023 in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home.
