Terry Hughes, age 65, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018. He was born on July 8, 1953. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelson Auburn Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Judy Hughes of Dalton; sons and daughters in law, Steve and Joyce Hughes of Dalton, Timothy and Kizz Hughes of Dalton; daughters and sons in law, Sherry and Randy Sluder of Chatsworth; mother, Norma Jean Abrams Hughes of Dalton; brothers and sisters in law, Glenn and Teresa Alderman of Chatsworth, Marshall and Joyce Newman of Blairsville; sister and brother in law, Glenda and Terry Greene of Rocky Face; special grandson, Terry Granger; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Terry Hughes will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Chatsworth with Bro. Lonnie Starnes and Bro. Edward Hughes officiating. Interment will be at Spring Place Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening at Dalton Funeral Home. Steve Hughes, Timothy Hughes, Terry Granger, Randy Sluder, Michael Heard and Cody Walston will be serving as pallbearers. Glenn Alderman and Marshall Newman will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
