Mr. James “Bill” Edgar Baker, age 88, of Dalton, GA stepped over into his home in glory on Monday, April 4, 2022. He was born on October 1, 1933. He is preceded in death by his father, Elijah Baker; mother, McKelvey “Elrod” Baker; wife, Geraldine Baker; son, Paul Baker; brothers, Dan and Charlie Baker; and sister, Easter Gravitt. He is survived by his sons, Larry (Jan) Baker of Cohutta and Ricky (Mary) Baker of Dalton; daughters, Jeanette (Gary) Burns of Chatsworth, Carolyn (Lonnie) Vick of Cohutta, and Teresa Baker of Dalton; brothers, Jerry (Bernice) Baker of Dalton, Sam Baker of Dalton, and Carl Baker of Dalton; grandchildren, Shirley Burns, Nathan Burns, Anthony (Christy) Burns, Aaron Baker, Isaiah (Ashley) Baker, Brandi (Frankie) Dale, Angie (Greg) Boring, Melissa Baker; great grandchildren, Michael Burns, Kaylee Burns, Jacob Burns, Keylei Taylor, Skyler Dale, and Braden Dale, Katelyn Burns; great-great grandchildren, Bentley Burns and Asher Burns. A going home service to celebrate the life of Mr. James “Bill” Edgar Baker will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Pastor Cynthia Chadwick will be officiating. Interment will be at Damascus Cemetery in Calhoun. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00-2:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home.
