Jerry Don (Papa) Silvers

Jerry Don (Papa) Silvers, age 74, of Crandall, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021. Jerry was born on March 23rd, 1947 to the late Jesse (Jett) Silvers and Myrtle Dixon Silvers. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Judy Silvers. Jerry was a member of Valley Baptist Church. He served his country from 1966-1969 in the United States Army during which time he was stationed in Alaska, a place he loved, and wanted to return there someday but was never able to. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and hunting. He was a diesel mechanic for over 30 years before retiring. He was a Mr. Fix-it and everyone looked to him for help when something needed repair. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Gribble Silvers; his son, Jerome (Robin) Silvers; daughter, Missy (Buster) Fox; grandchildren, Emily (Tucker) Nelson, Jessie (Chyanne) Fox, Amber Fox; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Fox and Ronan Nelson. He is also survived by his brothers, Alvin Silvers, Jesse (Shirley) Silvers and Randall Silvers; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe Woody and Willie Woody. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 29th, 2021 from 5-9 PM at Dalton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 30th at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Guffey and Rev. Jerome Silvers officiating. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Hamm officiating graveside. Pallbearers are Jessie Fox, Buster Fox, Ronnie Davis, David Davis, Joe Woody and Willie Woody. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Silvers and Travis Silvers. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S.
