Julian Fred Cassell Jr.

April 12, 1951 - April 4, 2022

Mr. Julian Fred Cassell, Jr. age 70, of Kennesaw, GA passed away early Monday, April 4, 2022 at Kennestone Wellstar Hospital after recent illness. Born in Marion, Indiana, he lived in the Atlanta, GA area for many years, later returning to Knoxville, TN for a time before returning back to Kennesaw, GA about 15 years ago. Mr. Cassell Jr. was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly, Inc. of Calhoun, GA where he also pastored for 11 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Julian Fred Cassell Sr. of Calhoun, GA; mother, Rose Cassell of TN; daughter, Julia Michelle Cassell of TN; five brothers, Jerry and Stevie of Knoxville, TN, Jeff of Mableton, GA, George and Jesse of Calhoun, GA; grandson, Joshua Bragd of Crestview, FL. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda J. Giles Cassell; mother, Betty Johnson Cassell of Calhoun, GA; four children; son, Lindsey Cassell and wife, Michelle of Acworth, GA; daughter, Jena Johnson and husband, Walt of Crestview, FL; son, Jason Cassell and wife, Arshia of Macon, GA and son, Mark Cassell and wife, Samantha of Cumming, GA; also, four step children, Stephanie Reeder, Mark Biester, Eric Biester, and Dustin Biester of Dallas, GA; three sisters, Elva Medley of Ft. Smith, AR, Retha Brafford of Calhoun, GA, Flora Burke of Cumming, GA; and one brother, Hugh Teems of Ballground, GA; 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 14 nephews and nieces, and several other great nieces and nephews. A service will be held on behalf of the Cassell family at 4:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home. (620 S. Glenwood Ave. Dalton, GA 30721.) Burial will be held at West Hill Cemetery.
