Anita Whitlock Young, age 76, of Rossville, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at home after a long illness, with her loving family and friends by her side. She was born on March 30, 1939, and resided in Rossville all of her life. Anita was a wonderful, loving wife, and was married to her late husband, Charles, for 56 years. She was also a very loving mother and grandmother. Anita was retired from Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN, where she worked for over 27 years as an EKG technician. She was extremely loving and generous and had a number of friends and neighbors she adopted into her family as her own. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Young; parents, Everett and Nellie Mae Whitlock; brother, James Everett Whitlock; sister, Doris Christian. Anita is survived by her daughter, Dianna Young of Rossville; son, Charles E. Young, Jr and his wife, Edy, of Clarksville, TN; brother, Edmon Whitlock and his wife Sharon of Ringgold, GA; sister-in-law, Pat Whitlock of Rossville; grandchildren, Kimberly Young, Rebecca Young, and Benjamin Young; she also had several nieces and nephews. At Anita's request, she will be cremated with no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Amedisys Hospice of Dalton, GA,(or your local hospice), St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Veterans organizations, or the Alzheimer's Association, which were all among Anita's favorite charities.
