August Brez Blackwell, age 20, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. She was born on August 30, 2000. August was preceded in death by her father, Russell Allen Blackwell; uncle, Lester Atkinson; aunt, Vickey Atkinson; and grandparents, James R. Atkinson, Joe Blackwell, and Benita Finley. August is survived by her mother, Renay Blackwell of Dalton; sister, Daphne Blackwell Cagle (Lamar Wayne) of Dalton; aunts and uncles, Doris (Lewis) Hobbs of Cartersville, Larry (Crystal) Atkinson of Kentucky, Martha (Kirby) King of Dalton, Rocky (Mary) Atkinson of Dalton, Judy aka Mama Judy (Stanley) Thompson of Dalton, LeeRoy (Christy) Atkinson of Dalton, David (Angie) Atkinson of Dalton, Randy Atkinson of Dalton, Linda (George) Earnest of Dalton, Patsy (Bruce) Jones of Dalton, Mickey (Kelley) Atkinson of Tennessee; and grandmother, Nannie Mae Atkinson of Dalton. A funeral service to celebrate the life of August Brez Blackwell will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 7 PM at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Brother LeeRoy Atkinson will officiate the service. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday at 5:00 PM until the time of service.
