Barbara Inez Payne, age 87, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015. She was born September 6, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray L. Payne; parents, Carl and Fannie Bryant; brothers, Paul Bryant, Edward Bryant and Ira Bryant; and a sister, Eva Bryant Smithey. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Payne Smith and her fiancé, Rob Moss of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Lindsay Smith Slaughter and her husband Ryan of Dalton; Jeremy Jordan Smith of Chatsworth; great grandchildren, Justin Slaughter, Hunter Slaughter and Chyle' Smith; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Barbara Inez Payne will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, August 14, 2015 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Richard Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Thursday evening.
