Bertha Mae Holcomb, age 89, of Resaca, Georgia passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015. She was born on June 21, 1926. Bertha is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "JR" Watson Holcomb, JR; parents, Joe and Mary Walraven; 8 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Diane and Coy Coggins of Resaca; brother and sister in law, Otto and Dorothy Walraven of Calhoun; sister in law, Theresa Walraven of Calhoun; grandchildren, Trent and Anna Coggins of Valdosta, GA, and Trey and Jennifer Coggins of Smyrna, GA; 6 great grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bertha Mae Holcomb will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Resaca with Dr. Calvin Anderson and Dr. Randall Trammell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews will be serving as pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 2:00 PM till the hour of service at 4:00 PM.
