Mrs. Betty "Gazaway" Layton age 90, of Knoxville TN, made her final move to heaven on April 25th. Betty was born in Dalton GA on December 26, 1932. She is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Velma (Curtis) Gazaway. Her husband David Layton of 22 years. Siblings Lamar Gazaway, Genearl Hall, Ellen Stephens, Martha Sowder and brother in laws and sister in laws. Betty leaves behind her daughter Kaye Kimble and grandson Chas Kimble, many nieces, and nephews. Betty loved being Nana to Jacolby Pratt and Celeste Pratt. In Bettys earlier years, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She loved spending time with her family and going to church. Betty always had a smile and kind word for so many. She was a lifelong member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Church of God of the Union Assembly in Dalton, GA. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend's Charlie T Pratt and David Simmons officiating. Interment following at West Hill Cemetery.
