Betty Ray Loner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at the age of 72. She was born to Allene Nicholson Lawson and Ernest Ray in Dalton, Georgia. Betty was a lifelong resident of Whitfield County where she was a graduate of Valley Point High School, attended business school, and later on attended Dalton State college. In 1970, she married the love of her life, her late husband, Thomas "Tom" Loner. They had three beautiful children: Kathy, Jennifer, and David. After many years, Betty retired from Alltel Telecommunications Company and went on to work part-time for the United States Postal Service. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Betty. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild very much. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time with them and capturing all those wonderful moments with a video camera to share with others. When the weather was nice, Betty loved spending time at the lake and traveling with family and her dearest friends: Dale Harden & Mike and Sandra Johnson. Betty lived life to the fullest with a beautiful smile and contagious laugh. She will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children: Kathy Loner Phillips, Jennifer Loner Williams, and David (Linda) Loner; grandchildren: Ashley Phillips, Amber Phillips, Reagan Williams, Timothy (Alexia) Rackley, Danielle Loner, and Blake Loner; great grandchild: Leo Canales; sister: Margaret Maney; sisters in-law: Sandra Johnson and Patty (Cliff) Burke; nieces and nephews: Cindy Johnson Stokes, Kenny (Amanda) Johnson, Larry (Bridgette) Johnson, Brett Griffin, and Tanner Burke; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her late husband, Thomas "Tom" Loner; parents: Allene Nicholson Lawson and Ernest Ray; in-laws: L.C. Loner and Betty Jones Loner. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-6pm on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Betty Ray Loner will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at West Hill Cemetery.
