Betty Mitchell, age 73, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, June 16, 2017. She was born on December 19, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobert Franklin Moore and Faye Laney Moore. She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Bobby Lee Mitchell, Jr. of Dalton, Greg and Kim Mitchell of Chatsworth; daughter, Joyce Mitchell Hooker of Dalton; brother, Michael Moore of Rome; sister, Linda Johnston of Rome; grandchildren, Eric Hooker, Jordan Hooker Mullins, Peyton Mitchell, Tyler Hawkins, C.J. Stanley, Chase Mitchell, Justin Hawkins; and 17 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty Mitchell will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Dwaine Crummey officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation on Sunday from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 3:30 PM.
