Birdie Ruth (Smith) Holsomback, age 77 of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday July 28, 2019 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born on August 13, 1941.  She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy Holsomback; parents, Auther and Earlie Smith; granddaughter, Katie Farmer; grandson, Taylor Farmer; and brother in law Bill Gentry; sister in law, Mary Ann Smith; sister, Carla Smith. She is survived by her children, Pam Holsomback Farmer of Locust Grove, Ga; Anthony Holsomback of Dalton, Ga; and Tim Holsomback of Lafayette, Ga. Sister and brother in law Paul and Ruby Patterson; sister's,  Christine Guess and Mae Gentry both of Rocky Face, Ga; brother, Shuford Smith of Dalton; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Birdie Ruth (Smith) Holsomback will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Cofield officiating. Interment will be at the Lindsey Memorial Cemetery, Rocky Face, Ga. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
