A proud Korean War veteran, Bob honorably served in the United States Navy as a Seabee from 1947 until 1956. Before and after his honorable discharge from the Navy, he answered a higher calling and devoted himself to ministry with the Church of God of Prophecy. Bob’s pursuit of knowledge was unwavering, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina Charlotte, and he carried a deep passion for studying throughout his life.
Bob was known for his wonderful personality; he had a great sense of humor, loved to cut up, and could light up any room with his joy. Golf, fishing, and gardening were among his favorite pastimes, reflecting his love of the outdoors. He also delighted in playing the guitar and sharing his voice through song, expressing his warmth and spirit in every note. Above all, Bob treasured his Lord and Savior and his family, holding them close to his heart with unparalleled devotion.
He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Minnie Lee Sutton Minter; his children, Mark (Trina) Minter, Cheri Minter (Warren) Mahan, Vanessa Minter(Martin) Denney, and Phil (Tina) Minter; as well as his grandchildren, Devin (Kristen) Mahan, Phillip Minter, Chloe (Ondra) Brothanek, Caleb Denney, Paige Minter, and Peyton Minter, great-grandchildren, Grace Mahan, and Lily Mahan, and extended family who carry forward his legacy of love and laughter.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis Minter and Gladys Lou Arnold Minter, and his siblings, William Ernest Minter, Gerald Hollis Minter, Byron Eugene Minter, Billy Morgan Minter, Beverly Thornbury, C.L. Minter, and Doyle Frank Minter.
Family and friends are invited to honor Bob’s life and legacy with a visitation on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home, located at 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721.
