Bobbie Jean Hicks, 86, of Dalton, Georgia passed away at her home on Friday, September 20, 2019 after a 4 year battle of Parkinson's disease. She was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on May 12, 1933 to Charlie and Gertrude Hughes. She is predeceased by her husband Clyde Hicks; parents Charlie and Gertrude Hughes; sister and brother-in-law Lucille and James Gaddis; brother Colin Hughes; brothers-in-law Clyde Fuller and Norman Tatum. Bobbie really enjoyed working in her yard and her flowers, but more than anything, she loved going to church. She loved and enjoyed her family tremendously. Bobbie is survived by daughters and son-in-law Brenda and Randy Guinn of Cohutta, Georgia, Lorene Hicks, and Patricia Woody of Dalton, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law Rickey and Debra Hicks of Dalton, Georgia; sisters Elizabeth Fuller of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Shirley Tatum of Dalton, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in-law Charles and Mildred Hughes, George and Janice Hughes of Dalton, Georgia; 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Sunday, September 22, 2019. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bobbie Jean Hicks will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Burns officiating.
