Bobby Kenyard Smith, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was born on April 14, 1936. Bobby became an ordained deacon in 1985 at North Whitfield Baptist Church. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Smith and Bertha Smith; stepmom, Ruby Smith; brother, Robert Smith; and sisters, Genita Wofford Franklin and Lou Ann Kendall. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice Smith of Dalton; daughters, Angelia Bradley (Mario Cisneros) of Dalton, Amy Hopper (Shane) of Dalton; brothers, Charles Smith (Vondine) of Mississippi, Edward Fricks of Dalton; sisters, Joliene DeFore of Tunnel Hill, Jerrie Sue Reed of Dalton; grandchildren, Lashae Bradley, Amber Bradley, Tyler Bradley, Chamy Bishop, Kaley Hill, Ian Hill, Avery Hopper, Bryson Hopper, Olyvia Hopper; great grandson, Owen McCraven; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bobby Kenyard Smith will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at North Whitfield Baptist Church with Bro. Lillard Stringer, Bro. Heath Morton and Bro. J.T. Sanders officiating. Interment will be at West Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home. Shane Hopper, Mario Cisneros, Avery Hopper, Bryson Hopper, Tyler Bradley, Ian Hill, Josh McCraven and Hank Henson will be serving as pallbearers.
