Bobby J. Tidwell, a devoted husband, loving family man, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026. Born on September 24, 1944, Bobby Joe's life was marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering faith in the Lord. He was a proud member of the Church of God, where his spiritual commitment and kindness touched many.
Bobby diligently served as Plant Manager for James Carpet until his retirement, a role in which he displayed steadfast leadership and integrity. His passion for people found a new avenue, as he embraced the vibrant world of flea markets. Known to many as a skilled seller, trader, and bargainer, he loved flea marketing and the opportunity it gave him to connect with others.
Those who knew Bobby remember him as a wonderful, loving, and caring husband. Above all, he treasured his family, especially his twelve great-grandchildren, whom he adored deeply. His family extended to Charlotte Tidwell, his devoted wife; Charles Tidwell, his loving son; and five grandchildren, all of whom, along with several nieces and nephews, carry forward his legacy of warmth and faith.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Tidwell and Vsnow Godfrey Tidwell, whose memories he held close throughout his life.
A visitation in honor of Bobby Joe Tidwell will be held on June 8, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home, located at 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, Georgia. The funeral service will follow on June 9, 2026, beginning at 2:00 PM, also at Dalton Funeral Home.
In this time of loss, the family finds comfort in the love and support of friends and community, cherishing the enduring spirit of a man who lived with heart, faith, and a zest for life. Bobby Joe Tidwell’s memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew him.
