On Friday, August 1st, 2025, surrounded by family, Brenda Patterson Carroll went to Heaven to be with her husband…(and Jesus). Anybody who knew Brenda knew that her family was the center of her world, and she was the center of theirs. Her boys, Heath, Jason, and Jeremy, were the light of her life…until her grandchildren came along, and then they were second fiddles. She doted on her family, her grandchildren, her grandchildren's friends, and her daughters-in-law. She never met a stranger and just had the kind of face that inspired many to tell her their life story in the checkout line or the waiting room. She was, in short, amazing, and the world is worse off without her in it. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Faye Patterson of Dalton, her brother, Randy Patterson of Chattanooga, and her beloved husband, Doug, whom she missed desperately. She is survived by those who miss her terribly: Brother Ronnie Patterson (Kathy) of Dalton, sister and brother-in-law Steve and Judy Shadwick of Dunlap, TN, sons Heath (Elisabeth) and Jason (Ashley) of Dalton, and Jeremy (Melissa) of Knoxville. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Cody, Emma, Ella, John Douglas, Marshall, Evelyn and Thomas and all the others whose lives she has touched over the years and there were many. She also leaves behind so many special people in her life, Carolyn, Leigh Anne, Kim, and a million more that won't fit in this writing. Services will be provided by Dalton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family Monday, August 4, 2025 from 5:00-8:00pm with family visitation beginning at 4:00. The funeral service will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Dalton Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 with burial to follow at West Hill Cemetery.
