Ms. Brenda Sue Hartley Brown Cribben, age 76, of Dalton, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2026, at Regency Park with her family gathered around her. She was born on March 31, 1950, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles Taylor Whittle and Clemmie Henderson Whittle. Paternal grandparents, William Hartley and Pearl Hartley. Father, Eugene Patrick Hartley, and mother, Janet Joyce Whittle Hartley. One brother, Rickey Eugene Hartley. Brenda is survived by the father of their only child, Milton L. Brown and his wife, Velma Brown. Daughter, Amanda Leigh Brown Patton Darby, and her husband, Randy Darby Grandchildren, Caleb Dillion Patton ( Tanya) and Ms. Morgan Lauren Elizabeth Patton Great-grandchildren, Grayce Arlow Patton and Caleb Dillion Patton, Jr Sister-in-Law Theresa Helton Hartley and nephews Andrew Hartley( Amanda), Rickey Hartley ( Amanda), David Hurd, Michael Hurd(Brittany) Sister-in-Law, Glenda Faye Brown Williams, and niece Amy Elizabeth Livesay Belk Cousin, Julie Barrios, Cathy Ward, Darlene McDonald, And Edward Bruce Kimber Brenda started her career as a hairstylist in 1974 while working alongside her sister-in-law, Glenda Williams, at Blythe Spirit Beauty Salon. She continued that career for the next 40 years, and when she retired was still serving many of those original clients. Through those years, she made many great friends, and those friends became like family. As mom requested, she will be cremated, and her ashes will be scattered in a private place of her choosing.
