Mrs. Brenda Gayle Elrod Freeman, age 73, of Cohutta, GA passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. She was born on February 7, 1949. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Ruth Lewis; sister, Jeanette Lewis; and late husband, Hubert Leon Elrod. She is survived by her husband, Billy Freeman of Dalton; son, Hudon Elrod; daughter, Angel "Elrod" Gazaway (Darrell Patterson); step-daughter, Melissa Lynn Poe (Robert Poe); brother, Lynn Lewis (Janice Lewis); sister, Linda Campbell; grandchildren, Abigale Elrod Henderson, Tyler Elrod, Whitney Lofty (Chris Lofty), and Chasity Clark (Justin Clark); 2 step-grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Brenda Gayle Elrod Freeman will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 17, 2022 in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will be at United Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home.
