Mr. Charles Hughes, age 80, of Fairmount, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022. He was born on December 17, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie "Crider" Hughes; brothers, Lowell Hughes, James Hughes, Homer Lee Hughes, Nelson Hughes, Joe Hughes, and Carl Hughes; sisters, Lena Bell Hughes, Lethia Singleton, Evelyn Elrod, Johnnie Brindle, Margaret Partion, Marilynn Hughes, and Sherlynn Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Diane Hughes of Fairmount; sons, Shane Hughes of Utah, Jason and Christy Hughes of Ohio, Justin Hughes of Austell, GA, Matthew Hughes of Ohio, Jerry and Marsha Jenkins; daughters, Ranee Hughes of Resaca, Irene Neisler of Cummings, and Pauline Jenkins of Calhoun; brothers, Jacob Hughes and Edward Hughes; sister, Geneva Walker of Dalton; 40 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and several other nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Charles Hughes will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Calhoun. Interment will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00-3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Church of God of the Union Assembly in Calhoun.
