Charles Danny Swanson, age 67, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, September 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 25, 1958, in Dalton, Danny was the beloved son of Charles Swanson and Doris Virginia Norwood. A lifelong resident of the community, Danny was known for his craftsmanship, his love of the outdoors, and his deep devotion to family. Danny was a self-employed wood craftsman whose hands brought life to every piece he touched. His passion for woodworking was more than a profession—it was an art form that reflected his patience, creativity, and care. When he wasn't in his workshop, Danny could often be found casting a line at his favorite fishing spot or spending cherished time with his children, sharing stories, laughter, and love. He is survived by his children: Danny Swanson, Josh Swanson, Dawn Swanson, Tomi Swanson, and Brayden Swanson; his brothers Dennis Swanson and David Phillips; his sister Kathy Newton and her husband Gary; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Crow. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home.
