Charley Coker Callahan, age 58, of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC. He was born on January 2, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Benjamin and Violet Callahan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Edd Callahan; sister, Shirley Christopher; brother-in-law, Lawrence Christopher. He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Velma Callahan, Mamie and Jerry Jones; sister-in-law, Jerri Rittenhouse. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Charley Coker Callahan will be held at 2:00 Pm on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Howard Rittenhouse and Jeff Johnson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 till 7:00 PM on Thursday evening.
