Clarence Tallent, SR, age 79, of Cohutta, Georgia, formerly of Franklin, North Carolina passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021. He was born on May 7, 1941. Clarence was retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his son, Clarence Tallent, JR; parents, Ralph James Tallent and Gertrude Mae Tallent; and a brother, Eldon Tallent. He is survived by his wife, Cathryn Sue Chambers Tallent; daughter, Lisa Tallent of Clayton; step daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Andy Hewitt of Dalton, Delanie Huebner of Florida; step sons, Jason Huebner of Florida, Daniel Huebner of Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Carol and Gail Tallent of Franklin, NC; sister, Mildred Katherine Rice of Franklin, NC; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Clarence Tallent, SR will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. George Lee and Bro. Phillip Farris officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cohutta. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
