Dakota Mark James "DJ" Wofford, age 17, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018. He was born on July 18, 2000. DJ was a senior at Murray County High School. He was a Four Star General for the Murray County Indians football team. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bobby Glen Rowe and James Wofford; cousin, Jamie Lynn Charbeneau. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Larine and Bruce Owens of Chatsworth; father and stepmother, Lamar and Connie Wofford of Fairmount; brothers and sisters in law, Christopher Rowe of Chatsworth, Rob and Allie Wofford of Fairmount, Ethan and Brittany Wofford of Ellijay; sister, Aspen Wofford of Fairmount; grandparents, Donna Rowe of Calhoun, Denver and Vera Boling of Fairmount, Odessa Hopper of Calhoun; step grandfather, James Hopper of Calhoun; cousins, Andrea Youngquist, Alex Youngquist, Makenzie Rowe, Lacie Roberson and several more cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Dakota Mark James Wofford will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Newtown Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Hare and Bro. Darrell Ballew officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening at Dalton Funeral Home. Shane Patterson, Connor Patterson, Cody Burke, Logan Weaver, John Garcia, Nick Ridley and Christian Perez will be serving as pallbearers. Steve Plemons and Chad Stafford will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
