Mr. Danny Eugene Goswick of Resaca, Georgia entered his heavenly home on Sunday, July 2, 2023. Danny was born on May 23, 1962 in Floyd County, Georgia. He was the son of Gertis J. and Louise Busby Goswick of Plainville, Georgia. Danny grew up in Plainville and attended Plainville School and Calhoun High School. He moved to Resaca and married the one he would spend the rest of his life with, Susan Rutledge on May 11, 1990. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Jesse and Alpha Rutledge of Resaca; sister-in-law, Donna Gribble; and brother-in-law, Alvin Rutledge. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; two sons, Jesse Baker (Nikki) and Cory Baker (Ashley) all of Resaca; the loves of his life – his world – the grandchildren, Braxton Baker, Breanna Baker, Allie Baker, Brantley Baker, Jarrett Baker, Madisyn Volek, and Braxtyn Volek. He also leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Laura Goswick Wright; two brothers, Ross Goswick and Travis (Mary) Goswick all of Plainville, Georgia; sister-in-law, Telena Norton; brother-in-law, Michael (Felicia) Rutledge all of Resaca, Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Danny was always smiling, never meeting a stranger. He was always there to lend a hand or help if needed. He enjoyed working with kids and coaching soccer with his friend, Steve Adkins when the boys were younger. They even had a win of a state championship with the Colts. He was a member of the former Missionaries on Bikes at Meadowdale Baptist Church. Throughout the week, you would see Danny out in his big truck doing the occupation he enjoyed. He said it gave him the ability to meet different people and see different places. Danny loved God and he loved his family. He enjoyed attending church and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Most of all, Danny was the happiest while watching his grandchildren in all their sports activities. He was their biggest fan and supporter. They will greatly miss their Paw-paw cheering them on. On Thursday, July 6, 2023, visitation will be held at Trinity Baptist Church (Rome-Calhoun Rd.) from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. On Friday, July 7, 2023, Danny will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM with the service starting at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers serving will be Jesse Baker, Cory Baker, David Bryant, Jimmy Fox, Chris Gribble, Andrew Gribble, Daniel Howard, Jerry Jones, and Jeff Martin.
