David Lee Clayton, age 63, of Cohutta, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 25, 1954. David was a great husband, daddy and papaw. He loved his Lord and his church, Following In The Footsteps, where he served as a faithful Deacon. David served his country in the US Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Bonnie Clayton. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Brenda Clayton of Cohutta; son and daughter in law, David Lee JR and Tiffani Clayton of Cohutta; daughters and sons in law, Brandi and Matt Powell of Tunnel Hill, Sharon and David Jones of Cleveland, TN; brothers and sister in law, Ronnie Clayton of Cohutta, Charlie and Jayme Clayton of Cohutta; sisters, Patricia and Cecil Reagan of Bradley County, TN, Tina Clayton of Cohutta; grandchildren, Katilyn Powell, Matthew Powell, Makayla Jones, Becca Clayton, Haylie Jones and Paisley Clayton; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of David Lee Clayton will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Following In The Footsteps Church (4481 Keith Valley Rd. Cohutta, GA) with Pastor Nick Bivens, Pastor Timmy Turnipseed and Bro. Bradley Clayton officiating. Interment will be at Bryant Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-9 PM Monday evening, and Tuesday morning until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
