Delia Wimpy, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 1, 2017. She was born on August 7, 1930. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Oliver Duckworth and J.C. Wimpy; parents, William A. Land and Mary Ann Woody Land; daughter, Stella Jane Smith; and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Oliver Duckworth of Dalton, Calvin and Fostene Wimpy of Chatsworth, Ronnie Duckworth of Dalton; daughter and son in law, Nancy and Cecil Pierce of Dalton; sister, Pauline Land Jones of Dalton; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Delia Wimpy will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery.
