Dennis Jerome Parmer, beloved family man, passed away on August 1, 2026, at Regency Health and Rehab. He was born on April 24, 1951, in Troup, Georgia, and throughout his seventy-five years, Jerome left a legacy marked by his commitment to service, loyalty to family, and his genuine kindness toward all who knew him.

Jerome built a career defined by hard work. He served as a bus driver for Murray County Schools, ensuring the safety and well-being of countless students over the years. In addition to his work in transportation, Jerome also exercised his craftsmanship as a carpenter and his entrepreneurial spirit running a store. He was respected by everyone alike for his reliability, work ethic, and integrity.

Faith played an important role throughout Jerome’s life. As a devoted church member at Holly Creek Baptist Church, he participated in church life and fostered connections that were deeply meaningful to him. His faith and values were evident in the way he conducted himself and in his generous willingness to support others.

At the heart of Jerome’s life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Parmer; daughter, Sanna Fleming, and her husband Sean; son, Zach Huggins, and his wife Cristin; and brothers, Terry Parmer, and his wife Mary, Marty Parmer, and his wife, Christina. His devotion to family extended to his niece, Emily Clance, and nephew, Alan Parmer.

Jerome leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Yasmine Huggins, Lake Harris, Liam Huggins, Madalin Fleming, Ian Fleming, and Mackenzie Fleming. His memory lives on in his great-grandchildren, Amzie Huggins, Kehlani Huggins, Selah Huggins, Lucas Davis, and Henry Davis, who were a source of pride and joy for him.

He was predeceased by his father, Malvin Parmer, his mother, Mittie Davis, and his nephew, Matthew Parmer. Their memories were always present in his heart.

Known for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jerome approached life with a big heart. He will be remembered for his love for his grandbabies, living on his farm, his enthusiasm for Georgia Football and the Atlanta Braves, and the special companionship he enjoyed with his puppy, Cacao. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on all fortunate enough to know him.

The family will receive friends during visitation on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, GA 30721. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 4:00 PM.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Jerome Parmer will remember his unwavering character, his devotion to faith and family, and the enduring love he gave to all. He will be deeply missed.
