Donald Ray Anderson (Donnie), age 67, of Ellijay, Georgia and formerly of Dalton passed away Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Hospice of Chattanooga. He was born on September 26, 1949. Don was retired from the City of Dalton. He loved hunting, fishing, and his cabin in the mountains. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Sue Anderson. He survived by his brother and sister in law, Bob and Minnie Anderson of Dalton; three nephews, Andy (Jennifer) Anderson of Rocky Face, Adam (Kellie) Anderson of Port Charlotte, FL, and Rob Anderson of Chattanooga; he is also survived by a great nephew and two great nieces and numerous cousins. To celebrate the life of Donald Ray Anderson (Donnie) there will be a graveside service with military honors held at 3:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2016 at West Hill Cemetery with Leslie Daniels officiating. Visitation will be held at Dalton Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Sunday evening. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
