Donnie W. Southerland, age 58, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015. He was born on March 16, 1957 to Hardy and Alice Southerland. Donnie enjoyed serving his Lord by being involved in jail ministry, tent revivals and being a Pastor. He was the owner of Donnie's Hair Shop in Eton, GA. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Southerland and Alice Marie Moses Southerland; granddaughter, Allison Lerch; brothers, W.R. and James Southerland. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 39 years, Denise Southerland of Chatsworth; sons, Brian Southerland of Texas, Dwayne Southerland of Lafayette, GA, Daniel Southerland of Chatsworth; daughters, Lori Wilson of Etowah, TN, Kimberly Lerch of Dalton; brothers, Jimmy Southerland of Adairsville, Milton Southerland of Chatsworth; sisters, Mary Stone of Calhoun, Doris Chitwood of Calhoun, Wanda Seabolt of Calhoun, Carrie Daniels of Calhoun; and 11 grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Donnie W. Southerland will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Thomas and Brother Curt Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at Sugar Valley Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 2:00 Pm till the hour of service.
