Doris "Anne" Burton, age 74, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Monday, July 18, 2016. She was born on September 6, 1941. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Branch Bernard Burton III; parents, Bryce Boyd Gambrell and Minnie Ruth Gambrell; brother, James Bryce; and a sister, Betty Sue Short. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Burton of Dalton; brothers, Donald Lee Gambrell of Dalton, Jerry Wayne Gambrell of Knoxville; sister, Mollye Lou Gambrell of Dalton; brother in law, James "Jim" Doster Burton of Myrtle Beach, SC; nieces and nephews, Rhonda Short of Morristown, TN, Jerry James Gambrell of Arjay, KY, Judy Woodard, VA, Brian Gambrell of Charlotte, NC, Donna Sue Brummit of Middlesboro, KY, Joy Strawn of Texas, James Burton of Michigan; and several great nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Doris "Anne" Burton will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 22, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor Leslie Daniels officiating. Interment will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 6-9 PM on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
