Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Doris Wilson Lee, who peacefully left us on March 24, 2025. She was born July 28,1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Lee; parents, Asbury and Lorena Daugherty Wilson; brothers, James A Wilson, and JB Wilson; sisters, Mary Sue Souther, Richardia Gibson, and Freda Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Lee; her son, Brian Lee; sister, Ysleta Morgan; grandchildren, Jonathan, Zachariah and Allison Hicks, and Gage Lee. A woman of immense kindness and strength, she was cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She found joy in the simple things in her life. Often found with a book in her hand or working a jigsaw puzzle with her daughter, these quiet moments of concentration reflected her patience and dedication she carried in all aspects of her life. Family brought great joy to her. She loved to be surrounded by loved ones, whether it was celebrating milestones, enjoying everyday moments, or simply sitting together in quiet companionship. Doris leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to call her friend. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Doris Lee will be held at 2 pm on March 29, 2025 at the Chapel of Varnell Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Laskey officiating. Interment will be at Varnell Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5pm to 8 pm on March 28, 2025 at Dalton Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Dalton Square Assisted-Living for their love and care of mother for the last 2 1/2 years. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S. Glenwood Ave., Dalton, GA 30721 706-529-5371.
