Ms. Dortha "Dot" Green, age 79, of Dalton, GA passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. She was born on May 24, 1943. She left her home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family. She was a God fearing woman, a mother to many, and a friend to all. She loved all of God's creatures and especially her faithful cat (Tater Tot). Her goals in life were for her family to be happy and to meet her in glory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Mary "Silvers" Smith; son, Kim Witherow; and daughters, Susan Watins and Sherrie Gardener. She is survived by her sons and daughter in laws, Lewis (Christal) Green, Brandon (Ashley) Green, and Leland (Rachel) Mitchell; daughters and son in law, Ginney (Eddy) Cochran and Mary Ann Shipman; brothers and sister in laws, Jim Smith, Ray (Mary) Smith, Hoyt (Linda) Smith, George (Debbie) Smith, John (Marsha) Smith, Dale (Vickie) Smith, and Wade Smith; sisters and brother in laws, Mary (Paul) Edwards, Janie Keith, Jessie Lewis, Sharon (James) Wilson, and Pam (Benny) Kelley; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several other nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Ms. Dortha "Dot" Green will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Winkler officiating. Interment will be at New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery in Chatsworth. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home.
