Mr. Edward Howard “Sonny” Callahan, age 87, of Rossville, Ga, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026. He was born on October 1, 1938. He is pre by his parents, Edd Wyatt Callahan and Meredith Givens Callahan. Mr. Callahan owned Callahan & Son Trucking & Excavating; he enjoyed showing and judging horses, as well as go-kart and dirt track racing. He loved to Rabbit hunt, but what he loved the most was providing for his family.

Sonny is survived by his daughters, Vannoy Judith Allen (Steve), and Holly Lee Buckner (Donnie); grandchildren, Charleston Edward Hughes, Ashlyn Nicole Hughes, Presley Caroline Barajas (Miguel), Erica Meleah Pilgrim (Thomas Chip), Landon Bradley Allen (Ella), and Callie Brooke Smith; great-grandchildren, Charlsie Nichole, Sereniti Rose Barajas, Colbin Kash Hughes, Raylen Brooks Barajas, Hudson Cruz Barajas, Eloise Nicole Everette, Sutton Layne Pilgrim.

The family will be receiving friends for visitation for Sonny Callahan on Monday, July 13, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Dalton Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Charleston Huges, Landon Allen, Eric Powell, Johnny Thomas, Joe Jones, and Miguel Barajas. A Memorial service for Mr. Callahan will be held at Free Hope Baptist Church, 4176 Hwy 76, Chatsworth, Ga. 30705, on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 5:00 pm.
