Elmer Martin Rainey, 83 of Chatsworth Georgia departed this life on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Elmer was born on March 20, 1933 in Whitfield county to the late Richard and Shirley "Bowman" Rainey, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Rainey, sisters, Juanita Ball, Vergie Baggett and Bessie West, daughter Kathy Moore.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Janie Pack Rainey; sons and daughters in law, Marty and Sherrie Rainey, Calhoun, Ricky and Maryann Rainey, Chatsworth, Michael and Jane Rainey, Chatsworth, Tony and Sue Rainey, Chatsworth, Danny and Pat Moore, Etowah TN, Terry Moore, Chatsworth, Rodney Moore, Chatsworth; daughters, Aisa Rainey, Chatsworth,  Tina Long ,Chatsworth, Lisa Fox, South Carolina, and Debra Moore, Ft. Oglethorpe; brother, Milton Rainey, Dalton, sisters, Demple Moorehead, Martha King, Shirley Randolph, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Elmer will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 3:00 PM in The Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Brother Melton Rainey and Brother Steve Spangler officiating, Interment will follow at Cochran Cemetery in Chatsworth GA. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home.  Arrangements entrusted to Locally owned Dalton Funeral Home.
