Elsie D. Smith "Gaga" "Memaw", age 95, of Dalton, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Odis and Bessie Robertson Parsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Smith; a son, Neil Smith; a grandson, Andy Wade; sister, Virginia James; and brothers, Zack, Ollie, Neil, Ralph, Ted and Walter Parsons. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Theis (Joel), Diane Stuman (John), Sherry Parson (Sandy); a son, Jimmy Smith; step-children, Brenda Sanford and Richard Saunders; grandchildren, Zach Theis, Caroline Theis, Mike Wade, Bruce Wade (Michelle), Julie Roach (Danny), Steve Parson (Sabrina) and Chris Parson; a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; also, her special pet "Cassie". A funeral service to celebrate the life of Elsie D. Smith will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Marilyn Foster officiating. Interment will be at Whitfield memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 12:00 PM until the hour of service.
