Eric Byron Lee Coffey, a dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend of many, passed away tragically on July 9, 2023 at the age of 35 in Dalton, Georgia. Eric was born to Jerry and Wanda Coffey of Dalton, Georgia. He attended Dalton High School. Through the years, Eric enjoyed fishing with his brother, working outdoors for his family, and making friends wherever he went. Eric was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys, and challenges of those around him. Eric was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. Eric was preceded in death by his father Jerry, as well as his grandfather Paul Cass Sr. He is survived by his wife Shannon; children, Teelee Coffey, Chris, Joshua, Augustine, Brynda, Ariania, Aidan, Christian of Dalton; grandchild, Grayson, his mother, Wanda; his brother, Alex Coffey; his sister, Samantha Dirig of Dalton; grandmother, Cora Cass of Ranger, Georgia; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Eric Byron Lee Coffey will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Bramblett officiating. Interment will be at Talking Rock Cemetery in Ellijay, GA. Pallbearers include Alex, Landon, Aidan, Christian, Edward, and Zac. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home.
