Essie Watson Quinn (formerly Essie Louise Rogers) age 76, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Chattanooga Hospice Care Center surrounded by her loved ones. Essie was born in Polk County, Tennessee on October 5, 1946 to Jack and Mandy Rogers. She married George C. Watson in February 1964 and they resided in Tennga, Georgia for many years. Later she married Frank Quinn and lived in Dalton, Georgia. She worked many years at American Uniform Company in Conasauga, Tennessee and then Liebhardt Mills in Dalton, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mandy Rogers; brother, Johnny Rogers; sister-in-law, Irene Rogers; and brothers-in-law, Gary Patterson and Dewight Wilson; niece and nephew, Carolyn and Randall Patterson. Essie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Ronald Hughes of Chatsworth, GA, Minnie and Bobby Johnson of Rocky Face, GA; son, Everett Watson of Polk County, TN; special friend, Tammy Hesson of Polk County, TN; her childhood friend, Joyce Kincaid of Polk County, TN; and beloved pet, Gracie of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Amber, Tiffany, Randall Quinn all of Dalton, GA, David and Natasha Pack of Chatsworth, GA; great grandchildren, Blake Quinn, Shayley, Shelby and T.J. Wimpy of Dalton, GA, Destiny, Hayley and Seth Holland of Winder, GA, Nova Pack, Jacklyn Byers and Kimber Dison all of Chatsworth, GA; brothers and sisters, James Rogers of Athens, TN, Anna Ruth Patterson of Conasauga, TN, Lorene Wilson of Englewood, TN; sister-in-law, Nancy Rogers of Benton, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Ronald Hughes, Bobby Johnson, David Pack, Jonathan Rogers, Isaac Colbert and Eddie Chambers will be serving as pallbearers. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5-8 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Dalton Funeral home. She will lie in state at Zion Baptist Church in Benton, TN on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 12-2 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor David Flood officiating.
