Eugene Washington Cochran, age 87, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his residence. He was born on September 25, 1931. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Velma Cochran; daughter in law, Meredith Cochran, 4 brothers; 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Garner Cochran of Dalton; Son, David Cochran of Dalton; daughter and son in law Carolyn and Steve Elder of Dalton, Sue and Brian Cavender of Dalton; brother and sister in law, James and Myrtle Cochran of Dalton; brother in law, Jack Serritt of Rocky Face; grandchildren, Katie and Nick Carter, Stephanie and Shawn Rose, Christofer and Dana Cochran, Nikolas and Teresa Cochran, Justin and Morgan Elder, Hunter Cochran, and Caleb Cochran; 14 great grandchildren will serve as honorable pallbearers; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Eugene Washington Cochran will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 16, 2019 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Darey Kittle and Pastor Tommy Deal officiating. Interment will be at the Center Point Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, August 15, 2019. Grandsons as pallbearers, Christofer Cochran, Nikolas Cochran, Caleb Cochran, Justin Elder, Shawn Rose, and Nick Carter.
