Evelyn Haley Brown Parson, age 88, of Dalton, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at Ridgewood Manor of Dalton. She was born on December 16, 1934. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Alfred Brown and Jimmy Parson; her parents, Will D. and Ethel "Massengill" Haley; brother, Jack Haley; sister, Vivian Mills. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Parson of New York; daughters, Tammy and David Starkey of Calhoun, Becky and Roy Cross of Decatur, Tn., Brenda and Mike Hampton of Rocky Face, Judy and Mike Yarbrough of Dalton, Pam and Ronnie Cook of Dalton; brother, Bud and Sue Haley of Dalton; sisters, Katherine Dempsey of Calhoun, Shirley and Troy Edgeman of Sugar Valley, Charlotte and Jerry Goble of Sugar Valley; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgewood Manor and Hamilton Hospice for the support and care they gave to Evelyn. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Evelyn Jane Parson will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Rogers officiating. Interment will be at Hill City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Dalton Funeral Home.
