Farris Stone Turner Watson, age 100, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017. She was born February 3, 1917 to the late Grover and Jennie Stone of the Carbondale community. She was preceded in death by her sons, Howard (Mac) Turner and William (Bill) Watson; grandson, Reed Turner; great grandson, Zac Turner; son-in-law, Ellis Medlin; brothers, Marshall Stone and Parson Stone; sisters, Ruth Johnson and Geneva Ward. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Turner of Sugar Valley; daughters and son-in-law, Diane and Buddy Hughes of Dalton, Janet Medlin of Calhoun, and Jennifer Tarvin of Dalton; daughter-in-law, Linda (Mac) Turner of Sugar Valley; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. Thank you to Joyce, Danielle, and the staff of Ridgewood Manor for making her 100th birthday so special. Thank you to the CNA's and Nurses at Station 1 for their compassionate caregiving. She loved you all. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Farris Stone Turner Watson will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with her grandson, Ethan Watson officiating. Interment will be at Swamp Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 1:00 PM until the hour of service.
