In loving memory of Frances Ellen Housworth Hair, who passed away on June 4th, 2024, at the age of 82. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents John "Ruben" and Frances Housworth and survived by her siblings, John Housworth (Marlene), Mike Housworth (Debbie), and Nan Anderson (Richard) and her many nieces and nephews. Jimmy Dean Justice preceded her in death, together they were devoted parents to Beth (Justice) Morrison and David Housworth Justice. Ellen was a cherished grandmother to Amber (Morrison) Cash (Andrew), and great grandmother to Isabelle Cash. Preceded in death by Steve Hair, she embraced her extensive bonus family with love. Ellen was a Georgia Southern alumnus and a lifelong educator. She dedicated herself to shaping young minds as both a school teacher and guidance counselor. Ellen played an integral part in the founding of the Rome Floyd County Night High School, which allowed young mothers to finish their high school education. Beyond her profession, she found joy in sewing, swimming and the excitement of traveling the world. Ellen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalton where she coordinated the Chrismon tradition. Ellen will be remembered for the profound impact she made on those fortunate enough to know her. May her spirit of adventure live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her presence. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Dalton Funeral Home.
