Franklin Delano Amos, Jr., of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on August 28, 2026, at Hamilton Medical Center. He was born on December 25, 1968, in Dalton, Georgia.

Franklin will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather whose life was centered on the people and simple pleasures he cherished most. He worked as a manager in the textile industry, and outside of work he found joy in the things he loved deeply. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, treasured his dogs, Tank and Lucy, and had a special fondness for old cars, with the Corvette holding a favorite place in his heart.

Above all, Franklin’s family was an important part of his life. He is survived by his daughter, Erin Mock and her husband Dallas, his daughter, Kimberly Amos, and his sons, Hunter Amos and Calen Amos. He also leaves behind his brother, Daniel Amos and his wife Jill, and DeAnna Stewart and her husband Neil. His memory will also be carried forward by his grandchildren, Branson Mock, Everett Mock, who brought added joy to his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin Amos, and his mother, Dorothy Taylor.

Visitation will be held on September 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S Glenwood Ave, Dalton, Georgia 30721. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Dalton Funeral Home.

Franklin will be remembered with love for the care he showed his family, the happiness he found in the outdoors, and the enthusiasm he had for the things he enjoyed most. His memory will remain dear to all who knew and loved him.
