Fred Parks, age 86, of Dalton, Ga., passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022. He was born on March 4, 1936. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Melanie "Witt" Parks; parents, Henry and Laura "Marr" Parks; son, Jerald Parks; granddaughter, Goldie Thomas; thirteen brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons, Raymond and Bobbie Parks, Steve and Vickie Parks; daughters, Caroline and Johnny Phelps, Gail Costilus of TX., Joann and Danny Thomson; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. Fred Parks will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 in the chapel of Dalton Funeral Home with Pastor Cynthia Chadwick officiating. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00 – 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Dalton Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dalton.
