Frederick "Ricky" Clyde Smith, age 64, of, Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. He was born on August 9, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. Smith and Myrtle Sutton Smith. He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Bett" Lucille Smith of Dalton; son, Alan Smith of Dalton; daughter, Sarah Smith of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Cheryl Smith of Dalton, Janice and Ray Smith of Dalton; grandchildren, Savannah Whittenburg and Nova Leigh Holmes. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Frederick "Ricky" Clyde Smith will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Dawnville Methodist Church with Dwight Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Dawnville Methodist Church Cemetery. The friends will be receiving friends from 6:00-9:00 PM on Thursday evening.
